- “Invisible” by Leandro Erlich This installation uses mirrors and architectural tricks to make parts of the structure seem to disappear, creating a fascinating visual illusion that plays with perception and reality.
Setouchi Triennale
Every three years, Megijima is part of the Setouchi Triennale, an art festival. During the festival, the island has many temporary art pieces and performances.

The Legend of Momotaro
Megijima is linked to the legend of Momotaro, a famous Japanese story. Momotaro, a boy born from a peach, goes on a journey to defeat ogres who are bothering the locals. He’s helped by a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. The ogres’ home is said to be on Megijima. You can visit the caves called Onigashima, believed to be their home. It’s a fun and mysterious place to explore.
